Dear Friends and Family-
Our great nation under went a terrible accident on Tuesday September 11 2001. Our nation was threatened, laughed at, and was put to the biggest test of what the American Spirit is about. We passed!! Be proud friends, for we have proven that the nation is not a group of friends, but a strong family that will unit and stand strong through all with our flag, our SYMBOL, flying high through it all despite how ragged and worn it might be in the time of need of others.
Over the last few days I have read a lot of things friends from school and work have gotten off of the Internet saying what America is. They all had many points-all very good. But they all were wrong. America is not the flag, the state of mind, or the way the country feels as these articles have said, Nor is it our military forces, our government, our economy, our money, or even the piece of land we call our nation or an idea.
Don't get me wrong these are all points of our great American Spirit, but each of these articles said it was one or few of these. That is wrong. The American Spirit is all of these at every moment, of every day-not just during the time of need. WE, the people, are the American Spirit along with all the things I mentioned before.
America is not one special thing. In fact, I don't feel like this e-mail is doing the American Spirit an justice. The American Spirit is every thing we are today, were yesterday, will be tomorrow, and what we wish to be next year and the years to come. The American Spirit is the past, the present and the future.
The American Spirit is love. We Americans have love for each other, for the country, for the world, for the flag, for those who want freedom. The American Spirit is God. Many of you don't believe this as I do, but you do in one way or another you do believe in a heavenly body that guides us. This is what our nation was founded on. It is part of our heartbeat that will never stop.
Friends America is just that AMERICA. There is not one spirit that defines the American Spirit except that-America and it's peoples. America is one of a kind.
BE PROUD AMERICA. BE PROUD FRIENDS. We are winning this battle. WE WILL WIN.
The terrorist do not know what the started. It is said that these
attacks "awoke the sleeping beast". This is wrong- they just got her
VERY VERY mad, and they will feel our wrath. Stand behind our country
and her leaders proudly....
Fly the flag. Prove that united we stand for ever and always. Prove
that you are proud to be an American today, tomorrow and forever.
